Many of you will be saddened to hear that Paul Hearn died suddenly in October this year. Paul had been a member of Brighton and Hove Ramblers for many years, both leading walks and serving on the committee. He was well known for wearing shorts even in the coldest weather, when the rest of us were wrapped in wind and weatherproof gear! He not only led walks on Thursdays and Saturdays, but led walks for his friends every Monday. We shall remember him particularly in the late spring, when he was usually the first to lead a bluebell walk. Paul had been a member of the Boys Brigade and continued to support the organisation in adulthood. He was a gentle giant and, although he had not led our walks for a few years, he supported the Ramblers attending meetings with his wife and joining in the Christmas lunches. He was an unassuming man and always had time for a chat. Our thoughts and sympathies are with his wife Monica at this very sad time.
