I'm writing from publisher Arachne Press. Next Thursday, 28 July we will publish A Pocketful of Chalk, the new poetry collection by Rottingdean poet, Claire Booker.

A Pocketful of Chalk is a collection of poetry rooted in the geography of the South Downs- the sunsets and huge skies, cliffs and fossils, fishing vessels and windmills, people and sheep.

This is a memorable and moving collection that bursts with myth and metaphor, energy and originality. The giant of Wilmington leaves his hillside in an apocalyptic vision of global warming. Herons and Ospreys take flight, and a boy releases monsters from the sea shore...

To celebrate the launch of this title, we are holding several events, including a poetry walk and reading at Seven Sisters Country Park on Saturday 30 July, starting at 14.30.

We hope to see you at one of these events and would be really very grateful if you felt able to share details with your networks.

Many thanks,
Saira
