Hi Louise, The walking is going great guns - the Rye circular was excellent - lovely sunny day, too. "Happy Birthday!" , by the way - I'd have sent you a card, but dont have yr address. What was this "bug night" then? Sounds interesting/itchy...Good luck with the mud buggying (a bug theme developing here?) - wear a crash-helmet and leggings! See you on the 4th March - I might even have made that almond and orange torte by then...Best wishes, Jim
Hi Louise, Many thanks for the Guinness and Choc muffins - they were delicious! I'll return your container and spoon on next Sun walk, best wishes, Jim
Agh, how fitting that Elton should herald your arrival back in the office especially as you and he are mates. I did attempt my own version of that great tune to the boss-not a good reaction. Hope Elton's out of your head now. Anyway, just the thought of him, you and that song has made me smile alot this afternoon.
Am still feeling a bit wobbly after your Bulgarian tales and a couple of times in the night I did that sliding thing off a precipice in my sleep! Sorry to hear the wine was a bit substandard but not as substandard as my cricket. Anyway, i'm sure the headache is nullified by your infectious giggle. Did laugh alot yesterday, thanks.
I'm sure the Chocolate Guinness muffins will be worth the wait. Time's a bit short for me, too - so I'll make some whisky flapjacks instead of the almond torte. Well, it is Burns' Night, after all, and the flapjacks are sure to go down better than haggis oatcakes...
Great to add you as a friend. If I'm walking up Selbourne and smell some lovely baking going on, I'll know exactly who's doing it Lovely photo by the way.
I've just printed out Nigella's Chocolate Guinness cake recipe - so, I'll give it a go soon and try it out on my (guinea pig) colleagues. I look forward to tasting your muffin-sized version of it on the Arlington Circular walk, Sunday 29 Jan - with a lunch stop in another Plough Inn. I shall bring my trusty orange and almond torte. Cakes and walking seem such perfect companions...
Good luck with the flat move (straight back, knees bent!) - and very nice photos of the walk.

My PA, Nick, is very efficient don't you think? Still, he does give excellent grid reference. Don't think he trusts me!
Hope cooker performing again avoiding Kitchen Nightmares. See you Sunday.

Trust the Chablis and Bordeaux met with your approval whilst a tired and injured body hurled itsself around Portslade Community Centre.
Can almost hear Chef Ramsey mouthing obscenities as I cooked my dinner afterwards................
