The IOW walk is still going ahead but we will not be stopping out on Saturday night.
We will need to car share as there are engineering works on the railway
Looking to leave Brighton by 07.30 to arrive in Southsea by 09.00
The Hovercraft takes about 10 minutes then bus to Newport and onwards to Carisbrooke where the Tennyson Trail starts
The walk to Alum Bay is about 14 miles hilly but not difficult offering fantastic sea views if the weather is fine. A picnic will be required. We should arrive at Freshwater Bay at about 15.00 where we enjoy tea and cakes. The final part of the walk is onto Tennyson Down with Alum Bay and The Needles now within striking distance.
It is about an hour back to Ryde where we get the Hovercraft back to the mainland.
Should be back in Brighton by about 21.00 but could stop for a meal on the way back.
Cost of Hovercraft-Bus is £23.40 each but might be able to get a group reduction.
