It looks like Sunday is going to be hot, sunny and dry - which means this 9 mile walk culminating in a steep 150m climb to finish will be a good test of your stamina!
The walk starts at 10.45 from Ditchling Beacon Car Park, Ditchling Road, BN6 8RJ (Parking is £2 / free for National Trust members; accessible by bus #79, departing from the Old Steine bus stop U @ 10:15, arrives Ditchling Beacon 10:42 - I will be going directly to the starting point).
We start by walking East along the South Downs Way, before turning North to descend to Plumpton and then continuing along flat terrain towards picnic lunch stop after ca. 5 miles at Plumpton Green (with food available at village shop / drinks at Fountain Inn). After lunch we head South along more flat terrain via Streat and Westmeston - before the climb back to Ditchling Beacon (and a well earned rest!).
