Xmas Festivities Vote !

Hi Everybody

There has been some further developments with the Xmas festivities. It seems there is a significant demand for an Xmas Party in the vein of the ones I organised at Pelham House and The Star Inn at Alfriston in recent years and the Grand Hotel 5 years ago. Many people want to get their Widow Twankey and Buttons costumes out and parade their stuff in front of an adoring public once again ...Alright, get the glad rags out and have an Xmas Ball!

Katy is happy to co-organise this with me if this style of party goes ahead. Otherwise if there is a significant vote for the meal, she will organise that as before and it would be a lovely way to celebrate the festivities, especially for those (like me) who may have committed to too many parties already (Is that possible?!)

The Xmas party option is as follows, 3 courses + Coffee + 1/2 bottle of Wine (each) in the 2 AA Rosette winning Kings Restaurant at The Grand Hotel.  The disco (with DJ) will be held until 1pm. This would take place on Saturday 1st December, the cost would be £34.95, £10 deposit payable pretty much immediately.

This party has a few advantages over previous years. Firstly the price of the wine is included in the meal, the party takes place in central Brighton & Hove and the Grand have promised that the live band who 'played' for us 5 years ago were taken out and shot the following New Year. They'll never play a thrash metal version of Dancing Queen (in anger) again or compel the attendees  to enrol in expensive 'Anger management' seminars at the Grand in January as a consequence...

So please can you register your vote for Xmas as follows :-

Please pop yourself as an 'Attendee' against your favoured option and as a 'Might attend' against the second option if you would consider this too. You can remove yourself from either option if you make a mistake or change your mind. The votes will be counted mid week at the latest.  There may still be two Xmas dos anyway (if both are viable), I'm certainly very happy with either. And please thank Katy for getting the Xmas organisation  rolling... :-)

Cheers Clive
