Greetings all! Join me on a moderate to strenuous linear walk starting at 10am, from the Seven Sisters visitors centre at Exceat to Eastbourne via Friston forest and Birling Gap where we join the coast path. We need to cover 6.5 miles in 2.5 hours to hopefully arrive at Beachy Head in time for the Red Arrows so the pace will reflect that. Well earnt picnic lunch about 12.30pm with good views to watch the planes fly over for Eastbourne airshow. HILLY, involving a number of ascents and descents and a couple of steep climbs before lunch.
We will stop for an hour/hour and a half at lunch to see the airshow and then descend into Eastbourne and walk along the seafront.
The walk will finish on Eastbourne seafront and there are buses back to Brighton from the Arndale Centre (journey time 1.5 hours) or a short walk to Eastbourne train station (journey time to Brighton 40 mins) for those that want that option.
Accessible by public transport: Bus stop K opposite the Sealife Centre to catch the 12 leaving at 9.08am to arrive at Seven Sisters Visitors Centre at 9.59am. The same bus leaves from stop D at Brighton station at 9.01am. I will meet people at the Visitors Centre. A Network Saver will cover your return bus journey from Eastbourne.
