This scenic linear walk of approximately 12.5 miles includes a ride on the 10.00am steam train between the stations of Sheffield Park and Kingscote.
Kindly post a comment on the BAHR 30s-50s Meetup Site if you are able to offer any members a lift from the south end of Preston Park, Brighton (near to the Rose Garden) for a 9.00am departure at the very latest. The journey from there to the station at Sheffield Park should normally take 30-35 minutes. Parking is free. Unfortunately, a long queue at the ticket office will develop if everyone arrives at the same time, so it may well be worth arranging to leave a bit earlier to avoid the chance of missing the train. Meet us on the platform with your ticket ready to board the train.
Our walk back from Kingscote to Sheffield Park takes us through the attractive undulating countryside of the High Weald AONB. There will be a pub lunch at The Green Man in Horsted Keynes for those who have already reserved a place at our table. Otherwise, bring a picnic to have by the village green, or the recreation ground where there are some more benches. We are probably going to be staying for around 60-75 minutes, depending on how long it takes for our meals to be served.

Regrettably, BAHR has once again not been able to find anyone to lead a second walk this Sunday. More leaders are required in order to prevent this from becoming a regular disappointment. It should be noted that the walk is unsuitable for dogs.
