I have already  booked my accommodation for a short week's walking in the Peak District National Park this Autumn and invite any Brighton and Hove Ramblers to join me.

I am basing walks from Castleton which gives easy access by public transport to the White Peak and the Dark Peak and is a good base with a decent hostel (Losehill Hall YHA- several single and twin rooms still available!) and a variety of B+B and hotel options to suit most budgets! There are a range of pubs for eating options and many tourist options if you decide you don't fancy walking on any given day - Caves and Caverns and Civilisation in the form of Buxton, Bakewell, or even Sheffield!

I will lead full day walks on Tuesday 30/10, Wednesday31/10 and Thursday  1/11. Depending on weather there may also be shorter walk options on Monday and Friday.

The walks I plan to lead will be at the harder end of our Saturday walk options- weather permitting,- the hills are steeper and higher we should be out for a full days walking!

The walks will be for paid up Brighton and Hove Ramblers members whether you walk mainly on Saturday, Sunday or Thursday. Please note these are relatively challenging walks but the Peak district offers good walking on limestone paths and tracks- this is not a trip for climbers!

I welcome any  Rambler members who want to come along and lead their own easier or harder walks alongside mine!.

In terms of cost, you will need to arrange your own accommodation and travel. Single rooms at Castleton hostel start from about £90 for 4 nights. I can help organise options for lift shares and put you in touch with possible room mates. Train fares currently available at about £70 return to Hope- less for railcards.
