Heart of Sussex walk – Sunday 24th June 2012

Make the most our beautiful South Downs National Park and encourage the summer sunshine with the British Heart Foundation on Sunday 24th June.  They are organising a sponsored walk, or run if you would like, suitable for all the family and their dogs across our spectacular South Downs.

 

You can leave your car at any of the four starting points, and then be driven back to collect it after enjoying a well-earned BHF tea down at Alfristons Village Hall.  You can choose to walk varying distances 21 miles starting at Clayton Windmills, 15 miles join at Falmer, 8 miles from Southease of a gentle 5 miles from Firle.  The walk has attracted many hundreds of walker over the last twenty years it is a fabulous day out.

 

Simon Cartwright the Chairman of the Southern Region of BHF Volunteers is hoping to attract a record numbers of walkers this year - come to enjoy our stunning Sussex scenery, keep fit, and have fun.

Every penny raised goes towards research into heart disease, patient care, a better understanding of how to look after our hearts, and helps heart patients best cope with their illness.  Please help us and have great in day in your beautiful countryside at the same time. 

 

Registration begins at:

8am  - 9am at Clayton (21miles),

8.30am – 9.30am at Falmer (15miles),

9.30 – 11.30 noon at Southease (8miles) and finally

11am – 1pm at Firle (5miles)

 

This event is now in its 22st  year and BHF hope to have over 250 people take part and raise approximately £10,000 .
