This ‘circular’ walk is 11.5 miles long and takes us through classic rolling countryside of the High Weald. We will be stopping for lunch on the outskirts of Mayfield at the Rose & Crown, or if you prefer, bring your own picnic to have on the nearby King George's Playing Fields Park where there are some benches with an attractive view.

Kindly let us know by latest 5.00pm this Wednesday if you would like one of the pre-reserved places for the pub lunch and are certain of attending the walk. Otherwise, feel free to book your own table for around 1.15pm – 1.30pm, or maybe just take a chance at the pub. Our lunchtime stop should not normally last longer than 60-75 minutes, although it depends on how quickly the food is served.

The terrain is undulating with approximately 1500 feet of ascent and descent. The ground conditions have been very good for the past couple of months, but if there is much rain before the walk, then some areas can quickly become muddy.

Please allow sufficient time to get to the starting point which is the main public car park off the High Street in Mayfield, as we need to begin the walk promptly from there at 10.15am. Click here for further details, this saves repeating everything already set out in the programme.

We hope that some of you are going to be able to join us this Sunday.

Cheers
