Leader

Hi folks! It’s fair to say the weather has been middling to rubbish lately but I hope you can join me on Sunday for a circular 10.5 mile walk on the Downs from Patcham to Pyecombe via Chattri, Lower Standean, North Bottom and Ditchling Beacon. I walked it out Monday and there were lovely views and no bad mud (bad mud!) until after lunch. Which is my way of saying that after lunch you need to have sturdy boots and a stoic smile and be prepared that I may reroute the post lunch section if I check it out Saturday and the mud is ridiculous. 6.5 miles before lunch so bring a snack.

Lunch at the Plough at Pyecombe at 1.15/1.30pm or picnic at the Church nearby. Please let me know by 5pm Saturday if you want a pub lunch- they were very accommodating when I walked it out on Monday but we have 13 for lunch so far so I would like to let them know final numbers. The menu is here and they inform me that they have lamb beef and turkey by way of roasts this Sunday. http://www.theploughpyecombe.co.uk/restaurantMenu.pdf

If anyone can offer a lift can they post here (Richard?) as my car has 4 of us.

Meeting point at the South of Preston Park at 9.45am and walk start point at 10am sharp at the top of Braypool Lane in Patcham, Brighton, just off the A27 by the junction with the A23. Park at the side of the no-through road. Free parking. See more details on the walk programme.

Look forward to seeing you Sunday!
