We are the Brighton and Hove group of the national Ramblers. Walking and socialising in and around the South East of England.

Dave Winnard is leading this walk. Update from him.....

Hi all,

This Sunday's 20s to 40s walk is approximately 10 miles and starts at Balcombe train station at 10.30 a.m.

The morning walk is about 6 miles through farmland and woodland, passing through the grounds of Wakehurst Place and then lunch at Ardingly (pub lunch or picnic if you prefer).

After lunch, a stroll along the shores of Ardingly Reservoir takes us back to Balcombe.

If coming by train, please meet at Brighton station at 9.45 to get the 10.00 train destined for London Victoria, arrives Balcombe at 10.26 a.m.

For those driving, you can park in Balcombe station car park for £1 or park for free in the road off to the right just after the station (that's where I will be parking !).

Hope to see some of you there.

All the best,

Dave Winnard.

Depending on how many cars we have, a few people have expressed an interest in seeing Balcombe viaduct close up. It is only about 1.5 miles down the road, parking for cars v nearby so this could be an option depending on what time we finish the walk. Car drivers could then drop people off at Haywards Heath station (or take back to Brighton if heading there).
