Please bring cars to south end of Preston Park (near to the Rose Garden) for a 9.15am departure if you are driving up from Brighton. Members without their own transport may be waiting there for a lift, and we do not want anyone left behind. It would be really helpful if any car owners with spare places could post a comment to…

As some of you are no doubt aware, during the past year or so, there have been various problems in getting cars owners to meet members at The Level for our 30s-50s walks. It has therefore been decided by the BAHR Committee that the new meeting location for all Sunday walks requiring cars will now be at the south end of Preston Park (in The Ride, off Stanford Avenue, and near to the Rose Garden). This change takes place with immediate effect. Click …Continue

This walk is a late addition to the programme. It should reward us with some great views from the top of the Downs on the outward section. Our return route will be along the easy lower tracks and paths. The total ascent amounts to 1100 feet and nearly three quarters of this is in the steepish section near the beginning.
Please bring cars to The Level at 9.45am if you are driving from Brighton, as there will probably be people there requiring lifts, and we don’t want anyone left…

This Sunday's walk is a beautiful walk through woods and meadows at the foot of the Downs between Ashurst and Ashington. We have permission to park at Ashurst Rec on School Lane (opposite Ashurst CofE school). We will start at 10.25.
Lunch is at the fantastic Red Lion in Ashington (I have also found a picnic site for those who prefer). And after the 8.5 miles, optional afternoon tea at Steyning tea rooms.
Thanks to all the rain we’ve had recently it may be a bit muddy in…
I'm going to pick up from the Level tomorrow for the Cuckfield walk if anyone wants a lift. I have room for 3. Thought it would be best to let people know, due to lack of cars at Level recently.
