I am changing the walk because of the amount of water near the River Ouse & The Anchor Inn area. The walk will still start from The Laughing Fish Pub in Isfield, but now will be a 5 mile walk going eastwards via East Sussex Golf course. I intend to be back at the pub by 12.30pm. After lunch we should be able to get back to Brighton by 2pm ( Brighton v Sheffield Utd kicks off at 3pm ) Please let me know if you want the special Christmas menu by this coming Sunday evening & I will…Continue

Having recently pre walked, just to advise it is pretty muddy and slippery as you might expect on the high weald at this time. Therefore those who use walking sticks please bring them. There are about 5 styles. Also a reminder that parking at the Broadstreet car park (Start point) is very limited and would suggest parking on the London Rd/lane. and walk down. Refreshments at the end of the walk at the Rose and Crown London Rd.

I have some tickets for the production of A Christmas Carol at Lewes Little Theatre, for Monday 9th December @ 19:45 at the discounted rate of £6. This is an adaptation by Gary Andrews. There is a bar at the theatre and the nearest car park is only round the corner and is free after six o'clock. If you want to watch a trailer for the show, there is one on YouTube - look up A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens at Lewes Little Theatre. I think you'll admit it is rather good!

I have some tickets for the production at Lewes Little Theatre of "A Christmas Carol" for Monday 9th December at the very reduced rate of £6. The performance starts at 19:45 and there is a good, reasonably priced bar on site as well as coffee and tea during the interval. Nearby car parks are free after 18:00 and only a short walk to the theatre in Lancaster Street. There is a YouTube clip to view - look up A Christmas Carol by Lewes Little Theatre. There is the possibility of tickets for…Continue

Hi all - Sorry but I've decided to cancel Saturday's work from Shoreham due to forecast of high winds and rain all day. Given the exposed route, it wouldn't be very enjoyable in these conditions. If you know anyone who was thinking of coming, would you mind letting them know in case they miss the announcements. Graham has kindly updated the main website.

While everyone else is watching rugby, why not join me for a 10 mile circular walk: Shoreham-Lancing Ring-Coombes-Botolphs-Upper Beeding-Mill Hill with lunch at the Kings Head in Upper Beeding. We start at the Red Lion pub in Shoreham at 10am. Meet at Preston Park station at 9.30 or go straight to the start via the No 2 bus. Plenty of on street car parking near the Red Lion on the Upper Shoreham Road. If you don't fancy the full 10 miles, there is the option of getting the No.2 bus back to…Continue

Come and join me on this walk which has wonderful views, interesting features and explores some little known areas. It is hilly and as it goes over Access land, there are a few short stretches with no footpaths so it's a good idea to bring poles if you use them. As on the walk programme, please bring picnic lunch - there will not be anywhere to buy food or drink on the route. But we will go into the Giant's Rest…Continue

Awful news I’m afraid. No pub lunch. The Cat and Canary is closed for refurbishment and is not reopening until 4pm on the 28th. So it will have to be a picnic lunch.

Dear BAHR members,
The next programme runs from November to February, covering the Sundays listed below. With a total of 34 walks planned for the next programme, in order to fully complete this I need help from both new and previous leaders to share a favourite walk or explore a new walk in an area that interests you. Walks can be led individually or jointly, by anyone who is a paid-up member of the Ramblers.
No special training is required and…Continue

Just a reminder about this Saturday's fine walk! The weather is looking fair but more comfortable for walking than recently. This walk will explore the quieter northern escarpment of the Eastbourne Downs!
The full walk is long for a Saturday but there is a chance for people to stop at Alfriston and to finish there if preferred.
Packed lunch on the Long Man and lots of refreshment opportunities at the end if desired, including the appropriately named Old Boot Inn!
