I hope you can join me on an attractive circular walk at the western end of the High Weald. We will be walking in countryside surrounding the villages of Slaugham, Warninglid and Bolney and crossing through the grounds of Wykehurst Park. Pub lunch at The Bolney Stage www.homecountiespubs.co.uk/bolneystage (who were so welcoming when I phoned them; always a good sign!) or picnic nearby.
We begin from outside St Mary’s Church,…Continue
The Sunday Ditching Beacon Walk is still going ahead. Catch the 79 Bus at 10.20 from Brighton Station Stop A or meet us at the Beacon Car Park at 10.40.
A lovely varied walk with quite a lot of ups and downs.
Great weather forecast for Sunday!
My spies inform me that there are engineering works running this particular Sunday.
We will now be catching the 10:06 bus from Brighton Station which will take an extra 20 minutes to reach Balcombe Station. Same meeting point with a prompt depart to give us time to walk through to the bus departure area at the back of the station.
We will return from Haywards Heath station where there are limited trains and additional buses. Fare is under £8,…

I hope several of you are looking forward to the Whiteways (near Arundel) walk on Sunday. It should be a lovely lush woodland ending with a gorgeous stretch of the SDW and several great vistas. There are very few hill climbs, although it is definitely not flat, and no real mud either. There is however, one gentle but long hill, rather lusciously named the Gumber. Although there will not be a pub stop, there will be several pleasant places to have our picnic lunch and cake-heavy snack stops,…Continue

This is a pretty walk heading westwards from Hassocks with lovely views of the Downs. It is just under 12 miles but is flat so give it a try. The forecast is mixed and if it is wet we will have the option of shaving 2-3 miles off the distance if that is what the group wants. Option of picnic or pub lunch in Sayer's Common, do come along!

No parking in Falmer due to football match so for 28/29 bus - alight at Falmer Station stop and take path through to bollards to meet leader. If taking 25 bus - alight at Sussex House stop - go uphill to T junction, turn right and meet leader at bollards. Aim to start walk at 10.15 am. The walk will finish at Lewes Prison but there is a pub nearby and sandwich bar. Obviously there is an uphill section to get to Blackcap.

This is your chance to share a favourite walk or explore a new walk in an area that interests you. Walks can be led individually or jointly, by anyone who is a current member of the Ramblers.
New walk leaders are always needed, so could this be you? No special training is required, but if you have not previously led a walk, then we have experienced walk leaders who can provide some guidance, just ask. You do not have to make…Continue

A varied 12½ mile walk through the attractive Wealden landscape on the East Sussex and Kent border. Exploring the path by the northern shore of Bewl Water is a particular highlight. Expect to climb a number of stiles and the odd fence along the way. Care will need to be taken crossing the busy A21 and walking down the lane at the main entrance to the reservoir.
We begin from the public car park next to the Greyhound Inn at the end of the High Street in Wadhurst. I shall be meeting…Continue
Unfortunately, there are no trains running on Sunday between Brighton and Lewes.
This dictates a change of times for the Hastings walk this Sunday, which is defined as a public transport walk.
The train journey for Hastings departs Brighton at 09:14, but has now been routed with a change of trains at Haywards Heath, arriving at Hastings at 10:52.
This extended journey time means, the walk start time from Hastings Station will now be approximately 10:52,…Continue
