Mid Week evening walk - Wed 29th July

Hi all,

Join us this Wednesday evening for a circular walk around the Rodmell area and taking in Telscombe Village.

The walk is approximately 4.5 miles in length and has hills.

We will be meeting at the southern end of Preston Park (near the rose garden) at 7pm before making our way to Rodmell to start the walk.

I hope to see plenty of you there.

Isle of Wight Walk, Saturday August 8th

The walk details for the Isle of Wight walk has changed.  It will now be a linear walk from Newport to Brading across the spine of the island.  After walking from Ryde Pierhead to the Esplanade, we shall catch a bus to Newport ( every 8 mins) where the walk starts.  Lunch will be at the White Lion, Arreton.  Train time and ticket remains the same.  For more details please see the public walks programme.

30s-50s Hassocks and Saddlecombe circular - Sunday 19th July

Mid Week evening walk - Wed 15th July

Hi all,

Join us this Wednesday evening for a wonderful circular walk around the Firle area and passing by Charleston Farmhouse and Firle Place.

The weather is looking good for this walk, so it should be great and the views from the top of the hill are well worth the climb!  The walk is approximately 5 miles in length and has hills.  I am hoping for a spectacular sunset.  Possible drink in the Ram pub in Firle at the end.

30s-50s Ditchling Beacon to Shoreham Sunday 12th July

I do hope you will join me on this lovely linear walk this Sunday. We head along the South Downs Way via Devils Dyke towards the River Adur which we then follow to Shoreham. This is a very pretty walk. Please bring  a picnic although we will be stopping for refreshments at Saddlescombe Farm. Meeting at the bus stop U at the Old Steine at 10.05 for the 10.15 #79 bus to Ditchling Beacon

30s-50s Chichester - Waterways Circular, 8.5 miles Sun Jul 12

Channels and Canals- exploring the waterways around Chichester.

A largely flat walk along the margins of Chichester Harbour and the Chichester Ship Canal. Refreshments possible at Chichester Marina and Dell Quay, as well as at the end of the walk. Pub or picnic lunch- lovely pub (but not the cheapest) at Dell Quay with BBQ and outside seating area overlooking the water.

Meet at Brighton Station (by the central coffee stand) for the 09:30 train to Chichester.…

30s-50s Ditchling Beacon to Shoreham walk Sunday July 12th MEETING POINT CHANGE

Due to the ongoing improvements at Brighton Station, the upper part of Queens Road by the station is now shut. All the bus stops in this area are closed. After speaking to the bus company the meeting point to catch the 79 bus to Ditchling Beacon will now be bus stop U by the Old Steine. This is just south of North Street/ St James Street and west of the Steine Gardens co- ordinates TQ 312040. The bus leaves at 10.15, so please arrive by 10.05. Please ring me…

Come and see 3 Giants in One Day - Sunday 5th July

30s-50s East Dean and Wilmington Circular

This is a public transport walk from East Dean, we will be visiting the downs, Alfriston, the Cuckmere river and finally the Seven Sisters.

30s-50s Harting Down Circular Sunday 5th July

This lovely walk combining stunning views across the spectacular Downs of mid-Sussex, beautiful dappled shaded woods and gentle rolling hills will undoubtedly end your week off on a high (even if it is a bit of a trek to get there!). There are two steeper climbs at the end, but the views are well worth it! Start time: 10:30am (it will be tight so I cannot wait past this time) at the Harting Down National Trust car park (fee applies to nonmembers)on the B2141 near South Harting. Please see…
