Join us this Wednesday evening for a circular walk around the Washington area and taking in Chanctonbury ring.
The weather is looking good for this walk, so it should be great and the views from the top of the hill are well worth the climb! The walk is approximately 4.5 miles in length and has hills. I am hoping for a spectacular sunset.
We will be meeting at the southern end of Preston Park (near the rose garden) at 7pm before making our way to…Continue

There is a cafe in the velodrome as well as a garden cafe but there are many seats around for a picnic if you prefer. See you at Brighton Station 9.00am for 9.19 train to Victoria.

As some of you are no doubt aware, during the past year or so, there have been various problems in getting cars owners to meet members at The Level for our 30s-50s walks. It has therefore been decided by the BAHR Committee that the new meeting location for all Sunday walks requiring cars will now be at the south end of Preston Park (in The Ride, off Stanford Avenue, and near to the Rose Garden). This change takes place with immediate effect. Click …Continue

Join us this Wed evening for a pleasant walk on the downs around Pyecombe and Clayton.
What better way to relieve the stresses of work than spending a couple of hours outside in the glorious countryside on a summer evening with some fellow Ramblers?
The walk will be approximately 4-5 miles in length, takes in a few hills and has some great views. As I write this, the weather forecast is good, so it should be a great walk.
If you would like to…Continue

Dear all who were going. It is with a heavy heart that I must cancel my walk around the stunning Harting Down tomorrow as I have injured my ankle and just couldn't manage it. I really hope to put it into the program soon as it is a glorious walk! Apologies for upsetting people's plans and having to cancel the day before. Take care, Seb

As per the programme, Thursday's walk will start from the Bax Castle pub near Southwater - see below details for getting there.
From the A24 just north of Buck Barn crossroads, take the first exit signposted Southwater. On entering the village, turn left immediately after the Cock Inn into Church Lane. Continue to a T-junction then turn right into Marlpost Road, and right again into Two Mile Ash Road.
With luck, the weather should have improved by Thursday and I look forward…Continue
