So tiny a trickle of sóng-strain; And all round not to be found For brier, bough, furrow, or gréen ground Before or behind or far or at hand Either left either right Anywhere in the súnlight. Come and join us for a mid week evening walk this Wed 18th.
The walk this week will be around Washington and will involve the uphill stretch to Chanctonbury Ring. It should be worth it for the views!
We meet at the southern most end of Preston Park at 7pm.
I hope to see you there!

Thank you tons to Julie for reminding me that it is the London to Brighton cycle ride on Sun. I believe she is right that anyone coming by car would be caught up in complicated road closures etc if they went from the Level. Her suggestion of people meeting up (hopefully with several cars) at the King Alfred Leisure Centre on the seafront,
15 mins south of Hove Train Station, sounds good. Please could you comment here if you are wonderfully helpful…Continue
This Sunday is the London-Brighton Bike Ride so there is some disruption to the bus service. Fortunately there is a train alternative so I have decided we shall get from Brighton to Lewes by train rather than bus.…Continue

Hope some of you are looking forward to the walk on the 'West -Side'. Cars will be required so please go to the Level with cars if you can for 9.45am. I will meet everyone at 10.30am at the start . Car park is off the A27 dual carriage way into the woods, right turn into Blakehurst at 'Poling Corner' (before you reach the traffic lights/Arundel from Worthing). As road turns sharp left, park on gravel car park or grass verges but don't block gravel track that bears right please.
I will be leading an additional evening walk this Wednesday 11th June.
The walk will be around Clayton and Walstonbury and be around 4.5 miles in length with some hills. However with hills come good views!
If you would like to join us, meet at the southern end of Preston Park at 7pm on Wed 11th June.
The weather forecast is looking good for Wednesday so it should be a nice evening for a walk. There will be the possibility for a…Continue

We have started the evening walks for this summer now. Since these walks seem to rely on just one leader, we are requesting other walk leaders to contribute to the evening walks.
The evening walks are usually programmed for mid week (wednesday) evenings and start at 7pm from the south end of Preston Park. The walks are usually 4-5 miles in length and quite often end at a pub for a drink at the end, although this is not necessary.

If anyone is interested in learning more about their camera and/or taking photos, come and join Maggi at 9.30am on Tuesday 10 June at the Rotunda Cafe, Preston Park.

The 79 bus is due to leave the open Market Stop at 10.27, arriving at Ditchling Beacon at 10.42 but due problems at Btn station it is sometimes late but we should be walking by 11am. I'm keen to get going as I've only been able to reserve 15 places at the Half Moon and the weather looks good so it will be busy but that also means we can sit outside. We should be back at DB to catch the 16.45 but if for any reason we miss it there is a 17.45. There is very little parking and if it's nice…Continue

The walk on Thursday starts opposite the Fox pub. There is unrestricted street parking. We will walk over to Oreham manor, then towards Edburton. This is mostly flat. Then we climb up to Truleigh Hill at individual pace, along the South Downs Way and down below Beeding Hill, past Tottingham Manor and back to Small Dole. At the moment the weather forecast is quite good and I look forward to seeing you there.
