This week's walk is 10.5 miles and explores 2 wonderful hills - Wolstonbury and Newtimber - both of which are managed by the National Trust. Some climbing is involved (these are hills!) but I can guarantee you some magnificent panoramic views and interesting chalkland wildlife, including butterflies. You'll be up close to the tallest native tree (a…Continue

It will be hot tomorrow so please remember to bring plenty of fluids and suntan lotion on this 12.5 mile walk.
On the day, if you can't make it or may not be able to make it to Balcombe station by 10.30 please text me. My number is 07753237552. We will need to leave 10.30 as we have a table booked at The Cat Inn. Talking of which, a space has become available on the table for food if anyone wants it. Please let me know. See you tomorrow. It should be good.

Hi fellow walkers! Chris has posted an announcement for sorting out the next programme and so far there are only 8 walk leaders that have committed to leading a walk. Given the huge amount of work he puts in to not only organising the programme but also giving people walks to lead, why don't we make this the season that we recognise the work he does by responding quickly so the gaps are filled. Every quarter he has to cajole and encourage people to lead and then do the work of sorting…Continue
Here is a reminder for the walk this Sunday 8th May.
The walk will start at the Bopeep car park on the South Downs Way and take in Alfriston before returning to Bopeep. There will be a number of alternative options for lunch in Alfriston.
The walk is approximately 10 miles in length and the are some hills on the route. The scenery will be good and the heat wave should have arrived by Sunday.
The meeting point is the south end of Preston Park near the…Continue
The weather's set fair, the bluebells are still out, and the mud's gone. So come and join me for a lovely 6.2 mile walk between Bolney and Cuckfield and return this Thursday. It's gently undulating, with some great woodland scenery, and only four stiles. Refreshments afterwards at The Eight Bells. Hope to see you there! Mike

Dear BAHR members,
There are still plenty of gaps which we would like to fill in the next programme of Sunday walks for the 30s-50s group. This is your chance to share a favourite walk or explore a new walk in an area that interests you. Walks can be led individually or jointly, by anyone who is a paid-up member of the Ramblers.
New volunteers are needed to lead our walks, and without more leaders the group will be in trouble, so can you help us? No special training is…Continue
