If you’d like to join the walk take the 10:15 train from Brighton to Hassocks, I will meet you at Hassocks station on The Hassocks pub side.
There is a car park at Hassocks station for anyone driving straight there, please arrive for 10:30 walk start.
Most of the walk is before lunch so suggest you bring snacks to keep you going. Lunch will be at the New Inn, Hurstpierpoint and after that it is a short, flat walk back to Hassocks station.
Hope to see some of you on…

Due to unforeseen circumstances I'm afraid we have to cancel the 20s40s walk planned for Sunday 16th June. Apologies for this.
We will re-schedule it and add it to the new programme, which starts in July.

Reminder...there's no change to the advertised walk. Meet level 10am. I don't drive, so really appreciate it if some people could come to level with cars, as opposed to going straight to start point. Thanks.
Morning part of walk is quite long, so I suggest bringing a bit of snack fodder, and we can stop for a snack break mid morning.
The main trough is in kings head pub, beeding. Adur river bank close by for picnickers. The afternoon part of the walk is relatively short.
It's…

Unfortunately, owing to an appointment (that I was expecting in April or May) I will be unable to lead this 7 mile walk and would appreciate if someone could take it over for me please.
The walk as planned, starts from the village car park and proceeds along the Old Coach Road to Alciston, returning via Charlston farmhouse, Firle park and followed by an optional drink/lunch in The Ram.
I would, of course, give any assistance that may be necessary
Thank you in…

We shall be catching the 9.19 am fast train from Brighton Station, changing at Clapham Junction, arriving Hampton Court at 10.42am. As there is a chance of a shower, I suggest looking for a café in Kingston for lunch, although you can bring a picnic if you prefer.
An All Zones Travel Card will include Hampton Court.

This event IS STILL ON despite the disappointing number of members who have signed up to attend. It's not too late to come along and grab a bargain, or just to seek expert advice on footwear, rucksacks or clothes layering. I hope others will still feel able to join in and support our group attendance.

Two bits of good news for this walk :
First - train is running as stated, no engineering works, no buses - only half hour on the train.
Second - Chris Goodyear has agreed to lead the walk allowing me ample time to enjoy the tea & cake delights of Alfriston.
Walk will start at 10 50 from Berwick Stn. on the arrival of the Brighton train. There will be no leader at Brighton Stn.
Hope you enjoy the…

I am becoming increasingly upset by the amount of rubbish spoiling our beautiful countryside.
On a walk Anthony led a while ago,we gave out carrier bags (a small bag was used as a "glove"),and collected two big black sacks of rubbish by the end of the walk.
If we all carried a plastic bag and picked up a bit of rubbish instead of just walking by, it would make a huge difference, please do think about it!
Many thanks Christine

Just a reminder - meet at the Level at 10am as normal or at 10.45 at Crowlink National Trust (£2?) car park which is accessed between the pond and Friston Church off the A259. Lunch at the Golden Galleon pub. Taking bets if the blown up safe is still lying in the forest!! 9 miles if weather ok, 7 miles if not - I hope it is not snowing like last time I tried to do this one!
My number is 07941 146 137 - please text if going direct to start.
Look forward to…
