We prewalked it last weekend and it was fine the only really muddy bit was coming into Lewes. Should be fine to do in walking boots or Wellies. I have booked the Abagaveney Pub in Rodmill for lunch.…Continue

Has anyone lost 2 walking poles? They were handed to me this afternoon by a member of the public who was walking behind our group and who ran to catch up with the group after he found the 2 poles at a gate towards the top of the path leading down from the Downs to Glynde. At this point I was at the back of the group which had become very spread out and so I agreed to take the poles on the basis that they may have been left by someone ahead of me. However, nobody claimed the poles and so I am…Continue

After the disappointment of two cancelled walks last week, I can reasonably guarantee that, with no risk of flooding, this Thursday's walk will go ahead as scheduled. On the pre-walk there was relatively little mud. Some hills, but not too many. So come and join me for some wonderful down-land and forest scenery. Refreshments afterwards at the George & Dragon, Houghton.

This walk has been organised to take place in the Adur valley and following my visit to the area last Sunday it appeared difficult to access the river bank from the Steyning Car Park. I also received information from another walk leader that access to paths further upstream were difficult in early February and a further 4/5 inches of rain have fallen since then. Using risk assessment thoughts, I feel that it is safer to cancel this time and I will resubmit this walk in the programme later in…Continue

Tomorrow's walk at Bolney has been cancelled due to rain forecast all morning onto already saturated ground. Wykehurst Park was already very muddy when I did the pre-walk last week.
